As a brand who is looking to use social media to engage with followers, spread brand awareness and keep an eye on competitors, it is important to be in the know about all of the various platforms out there. There are the big ones that we all know, like Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok and Instagram. But, there are also new platforms popping up constantly. So as a brand, should you jump on every new platform? No.

To determine if a platform is right for your brand, you should consider what your goals are for social media and will that platform help you reach those goals. As Ampagency.com tell us, developers submit over 1,000 apps to the Apple App Store every DAY. Furthermore, with more than 800,000 mobile apps available in the Apple Store, only 80 generate more than $1 million in revenue during the fourth quarter of their first year. In other words, if an app isn’t in the Top 80 by the end of its first year, it’s likely that it’s a dud. So as a brand using these platforms, you don’t want to waste time and energy on a one that isn’t going to gain traction and help you engage with your followers.

Another aspect that a brand should consider before jumping on to a new platform is what exactly it is standing for. What are the advantages of using the new platform? For example, if a platform is bragging about uses being able to post anonymously, that might be a red flag for a brand. When someone can speak freely on the internet with no link to their real life, there might be some very controversial things being said. Is that something you want your brand to be involved with? Probably not. So a brand should be careful when choosing what new platforms to check out right away versus waiting a bit to see if they are going to be successful and if they will be beneficial for the brand.

One new platform that you may want to check out is Caffeine.

Caffeine.tv is a platform built by ex-Apple designers, allows you to create live broadcasts for friends and followers. The broadcasts show up in a feed where you can give an emoji reaction or respond with comments. Caffeine also allows you to stream your computer or TV screens as you play video games. This platform is really starting to make waves in the worlds of entertainment and sports. Recently, the platform was used to broadcast the 2019 X Games in Aspen. Caffeine’s success so far demonstrates how live video and video platforms are gaining quick adoption from younger audiences, especially in the Gen-Z age group. As the bigger social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have shown us, Lives and Reels are extremely popular and can be a great way to gain customer engagement. Therefore companies might consider checking out Caffeine to show off their brand through a variety of strategies, like behind-the-scenes content, Q&As, or other live videos. This platform could also be useful to brands in a wide variety of industries, including news, entertainment, gaming, and sports.

If you decide to jump onto Caffeine, it would be a good idea to check out similar brands on the platform. It will help you see what the competition is doing, how they are using the platform, and help you figure out what you can do better. Depending on your customers and who you are trying to reach and engage with, Caffeine might be a great platform for you to check out.

I think Caffeine is going to stick around for awhile because it isn’t limited to a specific industry. Pretty much any brand can benefit from jumping on this platform. Especially right now with more people staying home and being unable to connect in person, live videos are a fantastic way to engage with your followers. They are also a great opportunity to show behind the scenes of your brand, and to help customers feel like they truly know your company. Being a successful brand is all about creating that loyalty with your fans so they keep coming back to buy what you are selling. Giving customers a way to speak to you, engage and find out what your brand is all about is an important aspect of creating that brand loyalty. I think this is where those live videos come in, which is why I think Caffeine is going to continue to grow and be a successful platform.
